Park Studio: Means of Expression
May 17 to June 7, 2007
Roberts Art Gallery, Santa Monica High School

The urban landscape is a kind of a free-form museum along walls, sidewalks, and freeway underpasses. This is where one finds new types of street art: finely cut spray-painted stencils, printed graphics hastily pasted in sequence, deftly designed symbols, and grafitti. Increasingly, this unsolicited work is attracting the attention of passers-by. For many young people, this street art is inspiring and relevant. Park Studio brings forth the opportunity to see and make connections between the street and the studio.

Park Studio: Means of Expression features work by Lukaza Branfman-Verrissimo, John Cornejo, Tess Fischer, Paulina Herrera, Alex Jacobius, Lily Jacobius, Misha Lindes, Rafael Lopez, Zoé Maestu, Angelica Malone, Haily Malone, Matthew Moore, Spencer Moore, Rosie Narasaki, Alvaro Palma, Brenda Rojas, Lindsay Sochar, Samantha Sachs, Mikki Sachs, Andrew Torres, Bibiana Villegas, Lorena Villegas, and Yvonne Villegas
